Our experience shows that often electrical requirements increase or evolve during progressive phases of a decommissioning campaign. During decommissioning, it is always possible for Operators to become stuck where electrical utilities are needed for decommissioning but are already decommissioned, or in the wrong place. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of services that modify existing facilities, design-build, commission and operate complete temporary power systems, and technically support our Clients. Some of these services are described below.

Strategy and Coordination

We ensure complete safety and compliance with current regulations for operational; ‘not normally manned’; ‘totally unmanned’, and decommissioned platforms.

We can project engineer decommissioning and temporary systems necessary to enable a sequential approach to final abandonment.

Our site teams provide offshore surveys followed by HAZOP, HAZID and implementation, readiness.

Feasibility is another critical success factor; after all, every platform can be unique! ABMAS often surveys and produces strategic decommissioning planning that combines our E&I knowledge with Operations experience.

Engineering capabilities

Our team of professional engineers design, install, remove and replace to suit new conditions where traditional sources of electrical energy are no longer needed.

We design and engineer alternative energy solutions to ensure operational needs for standby power and essential like navigations systems and platform location identifiers.

Our engineers supply smaller electrical generation schemes, photovoltaic, fuel cells and wind power composite systems that require little or no intervention.

We provide complete documentation including but not limited to technical submissions to relevant authorities, including strategic documents such as studies, operating philosophies, and guidance notes. 

Our specialities involve engineering, work packs, drawings procedures and essential modifications, often involving complex interfaces.

We build and support

We understand how to manage and distribute power utilities, as well as interact with other disciplines. Accordingly,  often engineering calculations for energy consumption, structural issues and minimum electrical power solutions.

Often we engineer and manage transitional phases to ultimate decommissioning that include integrated isolation plans and execution.

Low energy lighting and autonomous schemes are second nature; we even build them on a bespoke basis. Often, we obtain significant power reductions from re-distributing and removing lights based on surveys and modelling.

We train
